Reserve Sessions and Manage Personal Time through Greenbuild Scheduler

Greenbuild Boston offers more educational sessions, more events, and now, more assurance that you’ll be able to get into the sessions you want to attend. You told us that you wanted pre-registration for educational sessions, so this year we’re introducing the Greenbuild Scheduler. With the scheduler, you’ll not only know where your desired educational sessions will be held, but you’ll know that your seat is confirmed as long as you show up 10 minutes before the start. The scheduler takes the guesswork out of your conference experience, helping you compare, prioritize, and schedule your sessions, plus add personal appointments as well. Register now to get started.

Full conference registration opened this week! That means you can start signing up for onsite LEED workshops, evening events, green building tours and outdoor Boston events. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a link to the Greenbuild Scheduler. This web-based tool allows you to scroll through all of the educational sessions offered, flagging sessions of interest. Once you’ve read through the list, the scheduler will help you prioritize your sessions, then place them on a calendar, alerting you to any time conflicts you might have and requiring that you decide which session you will attend.

The Greenbuild Scheduler doesn’t stop there. Juggling a personal schedule and keeping up with work at the office can be challenging when you’re attending a conference. Using the scheduler, when you view your personal schedule, all of your purchased auxiliary events, such as LEED workshops, tours, and outdoor events will be pre-populated along with your educational sessions. Best of all, the business meetings, breaks for coffee with friends, or evening events you plan to attend can be added as well. Your final schedule can be e-mailed to you, printed, or sent to your Outlook (or other format) calendar for viewing on your hand-held device.

Greenbuild is now ticketless, and more importantly, self-service. Your scanned name badge will get you into all of the events you purchased and all of the educational sessions you chose. This year, when you have to miss a session because a call comes in from the office or you have a deadline to meet, you can simply visit one of the dozens of self-service kiosks around the convention center and use the scheduler to rearrange your day.

Register now to reserve a space with your personal Greenbuild Scheduler.

Greenbuild’s Opening Plenary Speaker: Archbishop Desmond Tutu

The 2008 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo will open with an inspirational speech by Archbishop Desmond Tutu on Wednesday, November 19. Archbishop Tutu, a Nobel Peace Laureate, led a crusade for social justice and racial conciliation in South Africa as then-General Secretary of the South African Council of Churches. Today, he is revered worldwide as a moral voice seeking to end poverty and human rights abuses.

Archbishop Tutu's work is a living example of the theme of Greenbuild 2008 – “Revolutionary Green: Innovations for Global Sustainability.” His role in ending Apartheid in South Africa and bringing reconciliation to its people is an extraordinary example of how one person can ignite massive transformation, and inspires our own transformative goal of green buildings for everyone within a generation.

Tutu’s many accomplishments include receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984; the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism; and the Magubela prize for liberty in 1986. He is committed to stopping global AIDS and has served as the honorary chairman for the Global AIDS Alliance. In February 2007, he was awarded the Gandhi Peace Prize by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, president of India.
